My viola is awesome

Today has been more eventful than most so it's worthy of being blogged.
I had everything all nicely planned out and it seemed like it would go all smoothly, except I miscalculated a few things and so nothing quite went right. Was still a pretty decent day though, many good things came of it.
Started off with my wanting to make my damn tasty sausage and egg mcmuffin clones. I was all hyped up to eat some of them but I discovered that there was no cheese or eggs, so that ended quickly. I ended up just eating two minute noodles since it was actually about lunchtime :P. Anyway, I was going to go to cranbourne music, pick up a viola, then meet people for a movie after which we would zip into the city to go to the martial arts demonstration. Well, cranbourne music had no violas, being the crapheap store they are, which meant I had to skip the movie and head into the city in search of a viola. I thought I might meet other people up there, cept it turns out they're all BOGANS who couldn't be bothered coming, except kiah. Thankyou kiah, it was very good of you to come with me :).
It all turned out alright though, since I ended up with a very nice viola. Even Allens music in the city only had three of em. Damn music stores suck. Fortunately, one of their violas was very cool so I ended up getting that one. It cost $825 bucks, including the case, bow and shoulder rest (not all of which I have yet, they had to order in the bow and shoulder rest...). I'm glad my dad payed for it. Although I sort of payed for about half, since I spent all the money I earned working on my uni books, which my dad was going to pay me back for, though he got me this viola so its plenty payment enough...anyway it's a good deal for me any way you look at it.
The martial arts demonstration was very cool also. They had demonstrations of Kyudo, Naginata, Kendo, Karate, Kempo, Sumo, Aikido and Judo, all of which were quite impressive. During one of the matches they did during the kendo demonstration there was a really awesome point scored. Two girls were dueling, and one of em went in to attack, while the other parried, charged under her opponents sword and gave her opponent a mighty good slash across the stomach. It was very impressive to see. There were also taiko drums and some dances, which were also cool. There was a folk dance thingy they tried to get members of the audience to join in at the end; I joined in and so did my dad, but Kiah wimped out :P. That thing just kept going though! It was one of those dances with only a handful of steps which repeats many times so that anyone can do it really.
Anyway, I ended up back here feeling pretty hungry, so I might have to go and eat some food.

Various doings.

Well that last comment thread was rather insistant on an update, so I shall post one.
Nearly the end of my second week of uni, only one lecture to go to tomorrow. Its been a reasonably hardcore week actually. The actual work hasn't been terribly hard or anything and I havn't even had the much of it, but with the amount of time i've been spending at uni I'm feeling pretty buggered. I've started to nod off in more than one lecture. Its coz of this Kendo and Orchestra business really. Keeps me at uni till 8 on monday, 6 on tuesday, 8 on wednesday and 10 on thursday. Thats a LOT of time on campus. Kendo's cool though, well worth my time doing and the Orchestra isn't bad either. It's not as fun as kendo but I'm going to keep doing it because I know that if I don't my skill in playing the viola will plummet and one day I'll wake up regretting that I never learned to play it better. I prefer to have as few regrets as possible. In fact you could say thats one of my goals in life, to have no regrets about anything. Actually a better phrasing is that I strive to never do anything that I will regret. There was also a nifty poster I happened to see at uni in one of the shops, it had an inspiring picture and said "the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary is that little extra".
Anyway, I'm very glad tommorow is Friday and I can sleep in a little longer and go home really early.
Oh, and theres a big martial arts demonstration at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics centre in the city on saturday at 7.00pm, I reckon we should all go, it'd be cool. Its free, so fear not about that. Anyway, I'm gonna go and anyone else is welcome to come with me.
Oh yeah, I decided not to go on band camp this weekend because I'm feeling too buggered and I want to go to see this demonstration.
